It has long been said that through grief and pain comes growth and inspiration. I had always been
familiar with this saying, yet I never truly grasped its magnitude until I went through what every
mother considers a nightmare. I lost my son in a terrible accident and did not dream of recovering
from such an experience. When I created Tamanna, in memory of my dear Karim, I was surprised to
find out that by helping other children smile; I got some of my smile back.
In December 2005, the vision of giving children with critical illnesses a chance to dream became a
reality. Our mission is to turn tears into laughter, and throughout our journey so far, we have had
the privilege to meet some of the most amazing children in the country. We hope to continue
reaching as many of them as possible to remind them that they are, nevertheless, children in the
midst of all the medication and harsh treatments they go through.
Over the years, we have had many supporters who have extended their helping hand to us and to
the children we take care of. We are very grateful to them for believing in Tamanna and the
importance of the emotional aspect of healing.
Our team's determination is strong. With the love and friendship of every single person who has
been by our side, we are confident that we will continue in our mission to "turn children's tears into
laughter."
