Tamanna Association was founded in December 2005 in memory of Karim Rayess. Diala, Karim's mother was determined to create a positive and vibrant entity that would reflect Karim's bubbling personality. Thus, Tamanna was born with the noble mission of granting the heartfelt wishes of children with critical illnesses, providing them with hope, joy, and unforgettable experiences during challenging times. To date, Tamanna has granted 2800 wishes at a rate of three wishes per week, each one a testament to the enduring spirit of a mother's love and the transformative power of dreams.
It has long been said that through grief and pain comes growth and inspiration. I had always been familiar with this saying, yet I never truly grasped its magnitude until I went through what every mother considers a nightmare. I lost my son in a terrible accident and did not dream of recovering from such an experience. When I created Tamanna, in memory of my dear Karim, I was surprised to find out that by helping other children smile; I got some of my smile back.
In December 2005, the vision of giving children with critical illnesses a chance to dream became a reality. Our mission is to turn tears into laughter, and throughout our journey so far, we have had the privilege to meet some of the most amazing children in the country. We hope to continue reaching as many of them as possible to remind them that they are, nevertheless, children in the midst of all the medication and harsh treatments they go through.
Over the years, we have had many supporters who have extended their helping hand to us and to the children we take care of. We are very grateful to them for believing in Tamanna and the importance of the emotional aspect of healing.
Our team’s determination is strong. With the love and friendship of every single person who has been by our side, we are confident that we will continue in our mission to “turn children's tears into laughter.”

The procedure begins with us sending one of our enthusiastic members to learn the child's one true wish, after having been contacted by one of the fifteen hospitals we serve across the Lebanese territory. These passionate volunteers connect with wish children and help explore their imaginations for the experience that will delight and inspire them. Our wish team creates an unforgettable experience driven by the child's creativity. It's an incredible experience that enriches not just the lives of the children and their families, but often an entire community. 100% of donations go towards granting the wishes of children. We work very hard to keep our operating expenses at their lowest . These expenses are fully covered by sponsored events. Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC) are in charge of auditing our accounts with the highest standards of governance and full transparency.
